4 Royal Cork Youth Sailors Honoured by ISA

No fewer than four Royal Cork youth sailors have been nominated for the coveted title of Youth Sailor of the Year 2011. Sophie Browne, fresh from her outstanding exploits in finishing 2nd girl at the Optimist Worlds in New Zealand, is the only girl nominated. Patrick Crosbie finished 3rd in the Topper Worlds in Dun Laoghaire, Seafra Guilfoyle was 2nd under 16 at the Laser 4.7 Europeans and Peter McCann was 5th at the Optimist European Championships in Portugal. Patrick Crosbie 3rd in the World Toppers!

Patrick Crosbie finished 3rd overall out of a fleet of almost 180 boats at the Topper World Championships that concluded last Friday in Dun Laoghaire. His performance was all the more remarkable because he has only sailed a Topper on few occassions and was up against a huge number of very well coached sailors mainly from the UK, Ireland and and Korea. Additional Fernando Coaching Schedule Published

This years skills training programme has allready been declared a great success with over 70 junior club sailors taking part in the sessions that started back in early June. An additional programme became possible when Fernando agreed to return after the ISAFs and bookings have come though each dinghy class. Fernando Programme – Final Details and Schedule

The final Schedule for the Fernando training, including details of the Oppie and Laser groups has now been published. You can access the schedule here There has been a number of changes to the previously published draft so please check the dates carefully. Morning Sessions will be 9am to 1pm and Afternoons are 2pm until 6pm. These are rigged and ready times. Groups may change dependant on Fernandos assessment over the first few days. Payment will be collected by your class and is due prior to the first session in all cases.
