As you all know, this was a highlight of the sailing calendar for many years. A new sponsor has come forward with some excellent prizes etc on offer. To ensure that we return this short handed race to its former glory, it is necessary to postpone the race to a future date.

Spring into housework …

The houseworks April Whitesail League kicked off cruiser sailing at Royal Cork Yacht Club in perfect Spring weather on Saturday 4th April.

A light breeze of 8 -10kt greeted Race Officer Kieran Twomey and the 13 boat fleet as they lined up for the start. Course 92 was the order of the day taking in Corkbeg, No. 14, EF2, No 12, Cage then back over to Corkbeg with a finish at Grassy.

Predictably it was the racier boats that took an early lead in the light winds with Derry and Hilda Good’s Exhale out in front with Kieran and Liz O’Briens Magnet and …
